Powerful compute. Responsible by design.

KernelMachine is a GPU marketplace. Developers, researchers, startups and businesses rent graphics cards by the second from independent hosts, at prices that make real AI work affordable. How we run it matters as much as what it costs.

What we do

For renters: pick an app (a notebook, an image maker, a chat model, fine-tuning) or use km from your terminal. We choose a checked machine, start your app, and bill by the second once it's ready. If it never gets ready, you pay nothing.

For hosts: an RTX 30-series card or newer can earn while you're not using it. Our software checks every card, keeps rentals away from your home network, and handles driver updates between rentals.

Our principles

Four principles guide what we build. For each, here is what's in place today, and what we're still working toward. We'd rather say plainly what isn't done than promise it.

Responsible use

Compute for real work.

In place today. A published acceptable use policy that renters and hosts agree to before they rent or host: no pornographic content, nothing that exploits anyone, nothing illegal, no attacks or crypto mining. Medical, scientific, educational, artistic and research work is welcome. Hosts and anyone else can report a problem; a person reviews each report and acts in proportion, from stopping one rental to closing an account, and people can ask us to look again.

Working toward. Faster, clearer handling of reports as we grow.

Privacy

Your work stays yours.

In place today. We don't inspect your files, prompts, model weights or what runs on a rented card, and hosts get no extra access to your work to moderate it. Rentals can't reach the host's home network. Hosts see which app ran on their machine and when, never who rented it. We collect what we need to run the service, and our privacy page lists it.

An honest limit. A rental runs on someone else's machine. Our terms forbid hosts from looking at it, but on a home PC we can't make that impossible, so keep passwords and private data off rented cards.

Working toward. Stronger technical protection for renters' work on hosts' machines.

Fairness

Clear prices, clear rules.

In place today. You pay by the second, only once your app is ready, and storage and data transfer cost nothing. A time limit shows the most a rental can cost before you start. Hosts see their share of what renters pay on their machines page, and a machine isn't counted against its host when the problem is ours.

Working toward. Every rule we offer renters and hosts published on this site, with its numbers.

Accessibility

More people doing serious AI.

In place today. Cards already in people's homes and offices keep prices low; today's prices are on the price page. Ready-made apps open in your browser with nothing to install, and you can start with a small amount of credit.

Working toward. More hosts and more kinds of cards, so there's always one available at a fair price.

What we don't claim

We don't certify models, guarantee that every workload is harmless, or catch every misuse automatically. We enforce our policy through agreements, reports and the records we already keep, and we say so.
